The Vietnamese in the Netherlands are mainly South Vietnamese refugees and their descendants. The Vietnamese came in boats to several countries in the world including the Netherlands in the late nineteen seventies. Guest workers from Vietnam came from Czechoslovakia after communism ended in that country to the Netherlands as asylum seekers. Most of them stayed here. The Vietnamese have grown in numbers this century, most of them being the ones born in the Netherlands.
Many of the Vietnamese are Buddhists. Pagode Van Hanh is a Buddhist temple in Nedhorst Den Berg in Utrecht. About a thousand people are members. There are Catholics among the Vietnamese living here. The Vietnamese live in several places in the country including Helmond. They speak Vietnamese and Dutch.
There are Vietnamese restaurants in the Netherlands. Also there are Vietnamese students here who are said to be generally happy living in the country.
* Scripture Prayers for the Vietnamese in Netherlands.
* Pray that the Vietnamese will not be neglected and be evangelized and turn to Jesus Christ.
* Pray that the Buddhists among them will have a desire to turn to Christianity.
