Luxembourg is a little country in Europe between France, Germany and Belgium. It has about 600,000 (2017) in population and about 50% of the people living and working in Luxembourg here are of other nationalities.
Native people speak 4 languages and it is not impossible to find many who speak more. The country is known in the world for its banking industry and International Cargotransportation efforts. Here living in the city means living side by side with a lot of green areas, cropfields and cattle in the neighborhood. Health and wealth and no social problems seems to be the state of Luxembourg. But this is the marketing side of Luxembourg. Many people are poor and are not able to buy a house or an appartment. Prices are very high, so that both family members need to work in order to pay the rent/morgage and have a decent life. Many people are poor according to Luxembourgish standards, homelessness and single parenthood are a great social problems in Luxembourg.
Luxembourg has never been reached by the reformation. Mostly Catholic in tradition, young people very often do not know what they believe and stay in agnosticism. Eastern religions are very popular among Luxembourgish people even though they claim to be baptized as Christian, refering to their first communion as signs of Christianity, only the older generations visit the Sunday mass services. Many are those who seek their fulfillment in pleasure, drinking and entertaiment, which is fueled by a vivid local community culture that drives the glutteny and drunkeness. Luxembourg has a high sucide rate among young people. The social pressures and bullying due to the crumbling down of former Catholic values comes to light.
Pray that their interest in spiritual things will be driven by the desire for truth.
Pray the Christians present will be able to share the Gospel of Jeaus with grace and truth.
Pray for open ears and hearts.
