Zhuang is a people group cluster in China. The name means "dried bamboo shoot." Buyang is a language within this cluster only discovered in 1999 and used by about 3700 speakers. Langnian is a dialect of Buyang spoken by only 300 people.
The Langnian Buyang people live in China's Yunnan Province.
The Langnian Buyang people speak a tiny language in a wide world of languages, so in order to interact with others, most Langnian people also speak other languages.
It is believed that there is not even one follower of Christ among Langnian speakers. There are no Bibles, no Christian films or radio programs to reach out to them. Most of them have never heard of salvation offered through Christ. They observe their own ethnic religion which is a mixture of Taoism, Buddhism, and ancestor worship. These 300 people are precious in the sight of the Lord. He knows their language and sees their need.
Will you pray that they will embrace the Lord and follow Him?
Pray for gospel workers to catch a vision for reaching the Langnian Buyang people for Jesus and that in God's sovereign timing their hearts would be open and ready to follow Him.
Pray for Jesus movements to bless extended families so the gospel will spread rapidly among this people group.
Pray for the spiritual lives of the Langnian Buyang people to become fruitful as they follow Christ.
Pray for the lives and culture of the Langnian Buyang people to evidence the rule and reign of the Kingdom of God as they open to the gospel, and for the beauty of Jesus to be seen in them.
