Introduction / History

Lakha (Wylie: La-kha) literally "language of the mountain pass," a Southern Tibetan language spoken in the Wangdue Phodrang and Trongsa Districts of central Bhutan.

What Are Their Lives Like?

They are yak herders. They try to grow enough grain to survive the freezing winters.

What Are Their Beliefs?

This is a Tibetan Buddhist people who have known nothing else. Some practice the shamanistic bon religion, which puts them at the mercy of the spirit world.

What Are Their Needs?

There are virtually no Christian resources in their language. Being oral communicators, it is necessary to make audio recordings of the gospel message for them in their own language.

Prayer Points

Pray that a field recordist from Global Recordings Network will be able to visit them and make recordings.
Pray for the Lord to give them dreams and visions of the risen Christ, preparing the way for them to embrace the only savior.
Pray for loving and dedicated gospel workers.
