The Katia are a scheduled caste of Madhya Pradesh in India. Spinning thread is their traditional work but they no longer do that. They have subgroups and clans.
The Katia now work in agriculture. Boys and girls are now getting educated but the gospel and other literature may need to be given in oral form.
Hinduism is their religion and they worship their own local gods. Women help in social and religious matters.
Many upper caste landowners have stopped giving work to people like the Katias and other Dalits who attempt to defy their ancient ways.
Pray for faithful workers and intercessors who will not forget the Katia people. Pray for a disciple making movement to thrive in their community.
Scripture Prayers for the Katia in India.
