The Karenga name is related to those who castrate goats and bullocks. The Karenga or Karanga live in West Bengal and further east in Bangladesh. They speak, read and write in Bengali. They have subgroups and clans.

They work as carpenters, castrate goats and bullocks and work in agriculture. The women sell jewelry.

What Are Their Beliefs?

The Karenga people practice Hinduism, the ancient religion of India. Hinduism is a catch-all phrase for the local religions of South Asia, so it is very diverse.
