The Hindu Doai people speak Bengali and live mainly in India's state of West Bengal. Some live further east in Bangladesh. Traditionally they were pig herders, fishermen, or palanquin bearers, meaning that they carried people on sedan chairs.
It is unclear what they do for a living today, but most likely their work brings them low status. Their marriages are arranged by negotiations, and no one is allowed to marry someone in either parent's line going back four generations. They have monogamous marriages, meaning there is one husband and one wife. Doai people get married as adults.
The Doai people in both India and Bangladesh are Hindus.
The Doai people need to accept the warm embrace of the only savior so they can enjoy spiritually meaningful lives.
Pray for believers to help develop the economies of Doai communities.
Pray for Christ to be glorified in every Doai village.
Pray for the authority of Christ to bind hindering spiritual forces to lead them from darkness to light.
Pray for signs and wonders among them and for great breakthroughs with a rapid multiplication of disciples and house churches.
Pray for an unstoppable movement to Christ among them.
