Galicians live in Galicia in northwest Spain. It is autonomous. In addition to Spanish, they speak Gallego which is similar to Portuguese. They are descended from Celtic invaders.
Galicians are superstitious. They are Catholics by religion and the women are generally more religious than men. Married women keep their surnames always. Children use the name of their father followed by the name of their mother. Coruna is one of the main cities in Galicia.
Galicians grow crops such as turnips and potatoes. They work in farming and fishing, some are self-employed. Tourism brings in an income. They like eating seafood and enjoy folk dancing.
Galicia is one of the poorer regions in Spain and many Galicians emigrated. They are not as poor now as they once were.
* Scripture Prayers for the Galician in Spain.
Pray that Galicians will not be satisfied in being nominal Catholics and that they will give their lives genuinely to Jesus Christ.
Pray that their daily need will make them aware of their reliance on God and will help to lead them to salvation.
