Throughout Latin America in early colonial days, it was common for Spanish men to marry indigenous women. Their children were called mestizos, and culturally they could be European, Indigenous, or somewhere in between. Other Europeans remained separate from the indigenous peoples. Today they might identify with Colombia, Spain, or the country where they now reside. White Colombians live not only in Colombia, but Venezuela, Canada, or Denmark. In the past, Colombians have moved out of their country either for better job opportunities or because of political instability. A 2025 poll indicated that half of Colombia s population would leave if the opportunity arose! Yet they have a small diaspora. A large percentage of these migrated to nearby Venezuela before their economy weakened.
In general, White Colombians have higher-paying jobs and more status than the indigenous peoples. This isn t always the case; some have low-paying jobs, or they are unemployed. Whites are more likely to have educational opportunities than their indigenous counterparts.
White Colombians in Venezuela are usually Roman Catholic, but they also have a strong Evangelical minority, especially in Colombia.
They need revival fire to bless their churches, families, and neighborhoods.
Pray for a Holy Spirit-led revival to bless White Colombians in Venezuela, leading them to a richer spiritual life in Christ.
Pray for them to become a powerful force for discipleship among those without the gospel throughout Latin America.
Pray for the Lord to bless them materially and spiritually as they obey Christ.
Scripture Prayers for the Colombian, White in Venezuela.
