Hulaula is a hybrid community. Their ancestry traces to the Muslim Kurds, but they practice Judaism, but in Iran and Israel. There are historical reasons for this. Kurdish Muslims tend to have a greater receptivity to Israeli Jews than they do to Arab or Persian peoples. For this reason, there has been more cross-pollenization between the two major ethnic groups.
The younger generation of Hulaula Jewish people is becoming secularized and choose to dismiss Kurdish culture. One of the great accomplishments of this people, in the eyes of the Kurds, is the naming of Yitzhak Mordechai, an Iraqi Kurdistani immigrant, as Israel's defense minister in 1996.
The Hulaula Jewish people in Iran adhere to Jewish religious beliefs and traditions.
Hulaula Jewish people spiritual receptivity and the chance to hear the gospel.
Pray for Hulaula Jewish people to seek Christ and carry him to their friends and family members.
Pray for them to have the spiritual hunger it takes to seek and find the King of kings.
Pray for them to become Christ bearers to Kurds around the world.
