The Krus speak Klao, a Niger Congo language. There have been times in their history when Krus had to flee aggressive neighbors and settle in different places. Today they reside in four West African countries, primarily Liberia, as well as Guinea, Ghana, and Sierra Leone.
Kru families are patrilineal, meaning the line of descent is determined by the father s side of the family. Their towns have a council of elders and clan heads. Everyone must marry outside their clan.
The Krus are renowned for their seafaring skills, having excelled as sailors, fishermen, and traders. Others are subsistence farmers like most people in their part of Africa.
Like most people of West Africa, the Krus need easily accessible medical clinics and reliable, clean water.
Pray for the Lord to provide the Krus with abundance in their crops and their fishing expeditions as proof of his power and goodness.
Pray for them to put all their faith and hope in the King of kings.
Pray for Kru leaders to open the door to Christ's ambassadors.
Pray for the Lord to send Holy Spirit-anointed workers from the Kru community.
