Baga Koga people in Guinea live along the coastline in swamp lands. They were the first people to settle in this homeland, consequently they have land rights. Many from this people group were merchandised for the slave trade in the Americas and Caribbean.
Baga Koga are known for their agricultural skills, particularly rice farming. They are also known for their artistic skills in animistic artwork, displayed around the world in museums.
They converted to the Muslim religion during the mid-1800's when missionaries reached out to them. What if Christian missionaries had been there first? The Baga Koga people practice a blend of Islam and traditional religion. Today, their lives are governed by a mixture of Islamic requirements, and ethnic fears. They need to be set free by the Prince of Peace!
Baga Koga people need to know the Savior who loves them and has paid the penalty for their sins. They need to know that the most important choice of their lives to receive Almighty God's provision has already been made for them if they will receive it. The entire Bible, audio, and the JESUS Film have been produced in the Susu language understood by the Baga Koga people. Brokenhearted disciples of Jesus need to reach out to this needy people with these resources.
Pray for loving workers to go to them. Pray that soon Baga Koga family leaders will be so consumed with a passion for Christ that they will put aside all other gods to follow Him. Pray for this unreached people to seek and find the blessings of the living God.
