Introduction / History

Ekajuk people have a close connection with the land, which their survival in rural Nigeria demands. Yet for their awe and wonder of creation, people feel disconnected and separated from their Creator.

Prior generations developed a traditional belief system based on fear. Over the years, traditional beliefs mixed with Christian values, created a synergetic blend of confusion. Currently, 70 percent of people are nominal Christians in need of solid teaching and the anchor of heart language Scripture.

Without a clear foundation from God's Word, future generations will carry on with a heritage of confusion and disassociation from God. Materialism, drug use and illicit lifestyles clamor for attention. People will continue to fight the effects of fear and uncertainty.

Right now, generations of Ekajuk people are repeating the same cycle of confusion. But there is an answer — God's Word. In fact, Romans 10:14 asks all the right questions, "But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?" (NLT). With your help, God's Word will provide answers to life's questions in a language they understand — Ekajuk.
