Najdi is one of the varieties of the Arabic language spoken by Saudi Arabs. Saudi Arabia is sometimes called, "The Land of The Two Holy Mosques," in reference to Mecca and Medina, the two holiest places in Islam.
Though Najdi Arabs usually stay close to Saudi Arabia and the Arabian Peninsula, there are small communities of them in other countries, including Egypt.
Most Saudis in Egypt are there for education, business, or diplomatic roles. Some work in trade, real estate, or manage investments, while others are students enrolled in Egyptian universities. Cairo and Alexandria are common hubs for Saudis because of their economic and educational opportunities.
Family remains central to Saudi culture even abroad. Saudis in Egypt often live in extended family arrangements or maintain close ties through frequent visits and gatherings. Hospitality traditions continue, with shared meals and social visits being important. They typically rent apartments or villas in upscale neighborhoods, maintaining privacy and comfort.
Saudis in Egypt enjoy leisure activities such as dining out, shopping in malls, and visiting cultural sites. They often frequent cafes and restaurants that serve Middle Eastern cuisine. Some engage in social clubs or community events organized by Gulf expatriates. Religious observances, especially during Ramadan and Eid, are celebrated with family and friends, often including charitable acts.
While Saudis maintain their Gulf identity, they adapt to Egyptian customs in daily life, such as local food and language nuances. However, they generally preserve their traditional dress for formal occasions and religious events.
More than 99 percent of the Najdi Arabs are Sunni Muslims. They are Sunni Muslims, who believe the Koran is the final word of Allah, and Mohammed is the final prophet. On a daily basis, however, they rely on spiritual forces, charms and amulets.
The few believers among the Najdi Arabs can grow in sharing and discussing God's Word with their families and communities.
There are not many followers of Jesus among the Najdi Arabs. There are a few and they need outside prayer support.
Pray for their protection. Pray they would learn to live in the power of Christ's Spirit, demonstrating the fruit of his Spirit. This fruit will be a strong testimony to the reality and goodness of Christ.
Pray the Najdi Arabs would hunger to know forgiveness of sin, found only through faith in the work of Christ on the cross.
Pray they would hunger to know God's love, found through faith in Christ's work and life.
