Summary
In earlier times, the Yadav were called Ahir. In most places, they no longer use the name Ahir, and the most common name is Yadav or Yadava. Most Yadavs remain Hindu, but a smaller, lesser-known community of them is Muslim. Most likely, they converted to Islam during the 300-year period when Muslim empires controlled the Subcontinent, and religious conversion was politically expedient.
Ministry Obstacles
Islam is a huge hurdle for the gospel. Islam has many similarities to Christianity, but they deny that Jesus is the only way to be at peace with God. Most of them hear that the Bible is corrupted or changed, and that the Koran came directly from Allah. The Muslim Yadavs also live in some of South Asia's hardest-to-reach locations.
Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.

Pray that the believers in this people group are clothed with humility and grace.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to move among Muslim Yadav family and community leaders to seek his face. Pray for the Lord to thrust out workers who will be compelled to see disciples who make disciples among the Muslim Yadav. Pray for Muslim Yadav leaders to embrace the blessings that their community can enjoy by being part of Christ's kingdom.
