Summary
Laosengs are among the Mon-Khmer speaking groups, which the Lao recognize as the original inhabitants of their country. A Mon-Khmer leader was included in the pre-1975 New Year rituals held in the royal capital of Luang Prabang. The Laoseng, also known as the Tareng, or Tariang, live in villages of the northernmost province in Laos, Phongsali, near the Chinese border. As animists, the Laoseng depend on the spirit world for their needs. They have round drums with pictures of three frogs on the top. Pictures or carvings of two large elephants and one small elephant may adorn the side. Most of the Laosengs farm.
Ministry Obstacles
Few Laosengs have heard the gospel. There are very few Christ followers among them. They will need outsiders to bring the gospel so they may listen to what Jesus Christ can do for them.
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Pray for this people group to approach God’s throne of grace and receive the mercy and grace found in Jesus Christ.
Pray that the little-known Laoseng will soon have the opportunity to hear the gospel and accept Christ as Lord of their lives. Pray Khmu believers would go to the Laosengs with the gospel. Ask God to raise up linguists to produce scripture and evangelistic materials in the Laoseng language. Pray for spiritual hunger among the Laoseng that will lead to a movement to Christ.
