Summary
The Kashmiris live in Kashmir, a breathtaking region located in the western Himalayan Mountains of northwestern India and northeastern Pakistan. This highly disputed area has been a battleground between India, Pakistan, and China since the partitioning of India and Pakistan in 1947. All three countries control parts of Kashmir, and sporadic fighting continues. Mountains fill more than ninety percent of Kashmir. Most of the region is covered in snow and glaciers all year due to its extreme elevation. Many of the Kashmiris survive as farmers or livestock herders. Tourism is also an important industry. During the blazing hot summer months, Indian nationals love to cool off in Kashmir's mountain resorts. Unfortunately, the constant low-grade war between India and Pakistan drives away much of their business.
Ministry Obstacles
Kashmir lies in a remote part of the world that is often a war zone. They also suffer from natural disasters like earthquakes. Kashmiris, like many Muslims, are convinced the Bible is wrong when it contradicts the Koran. Those who convert to Christianity are viewed as immoral, degenerate people. Christians in the region are often persecuted, causing some to fear community pressure.
Let my prayer be counted as incense before you, and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice!

Thank Him for making your prayers as precious as an incense offering. Thank Him that in praise, there is His presence.
Pray for a just and lasting peace in Kashmir. Pray for workers who will go to the Kashmiris and help establish a movement to Christ. Pray for Christians in Kashmir to be bold in sharing the gospel.
