SOON-ree SAH-doo-bah-NEEK

The Sadhubanik are a subgroup of the Sunri. This subgroup also lives in both India and Bangladesh. The main foods of the Sunri community include rice, vegetables, fruit, grains and dairy products. They do not eat beef or pork but will consume fish. The primary language of the Sunri Sadhubanik is Bengali.

Ministry Obstacles
It is hard for Hindus like the Sunri Sadhubanik to grasp and embrace the idea of worshipping only one god. They will have to understand that God is a jealous God and he has no rival.

Scripture Focus
"And he said to them, The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest."  Luke 10:2

Scripture Prayer
Pray for an abundance of Holy Spirit-led workers to disciple this people group.

Prayer Focus
Pray for the Sunri Sadhubanik to understand that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Pray that they would see the impotence of the gods they worship. Pray for Holy Spirit-anointed workers to go. Pray for teams of believers to offer sustained, focused prayer for the Lord to open the hearts of Sunri Sadhubanik family leaders to experience God's blessing through a movement of family-based discovery Bible studies.
