Badhai (Hindu traditions) in India
buh-DIE
Badhai are also known as the Vishwakarma. Vishwakarma was the chief architect of Hindu temples. Before the Industrial Revolution, they enjoyed the status of being the chief engineers and architects in Indian cities and villages. The building of temples, chariots, and war equipment was part of their wisdom and knowledge, and the Badhai enjoyed the status. They provided the sketches or blueprints to various other building trades. Today, the Badhai are usually employed in the fields of engineering, education, and industrial manufacturing. Some Badhai work in the areas of carpentry, stonework, and the timber trade.
Ministry Obstacles The Hindu Badhai believe that by performing rituals and good works, they will attain "moksha" or freedom from the endless cycle of birth, death, and rebirth. They do not have a personal or familial relationship with their gods. Pride in their Hindu traditions could get in the way of finding the only way to a loving, heavenly father.
Scripture Focus "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." Psalm 23:4

Prayer Focus Ask God to deliver the Badhai from any fear of Christianity and to embrace God's blessings through Christ.
Ask the Holy Spirit to give the Badhai a love for God's word and a desire to spread its influence.
Ask the Lord to begin blessing Badhai families in surprising ways, so they will know those blessings only come from the one, true God.
