Introduction / History

The Shifir people group farm and raise livestock in the remote Nuba Mountains in the state of South Kordofan, Sudan.

What Are Their Lives Like?

They cultivate sorghum and corn. Before the war, they had 4 primary and 1 secondary schools, but these have long since been shut down.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Almost all the Shafir people are Sunni Muslims who blend traditional beliefs with Islam.

What Are Their Needs?

They need clean water for drinking and watering their plants. They also need good medical care.

Prayer Points

There are no Bible believing Christians among the Shafir people in Sudan. Pray for the Lord to do a new work among them, drawing many to the King of kings.
Pray for the Lord to thrust out loving workers to them.
Pray that soon there will be Shafir disciples making more disciples.
