Introduction / History

The Myasa Beda migrated from Andhra Pradesh to Karnataka. They speak Telugu and Kannada and read and write in Kannada.

What Are Their Lives Like?

The Myasa Beda work in agricultural labor and cultivation. Their children are educated to primary school level or further. They use traditional and modern medicines. A community council looks after their interests. The Myasa Beda people often marry their cousins. They allow for divorce and remarriage. On the death of the father, sons inherit the family property.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Hinduism is their religion. They have their own festivals. Unlike most Hindu people groups they bury their dead.

What Are Their Needs?

They need to accept the blessings of Jesus Christ, the one who came to offer "life to the full."

Prayer Points

Pray that the council leaders come to Jesus Christ and lead their entire community into a movement to Christ. Pray that gospel materials will become easily available to all of them. Pray for faithful intercessors and workers.
