Introduction / History

The Dhuriya are a scheduled tribe. They have their own language called Parji, a Dravidian language. They live in Madhya Pradesh.

What Are Their Lives Like?

The Dhuriya work in agriculture and with produce from the forest. They no longer do much of their traditional basket work because they lack the raw materials. Men shave their heads. They have a traditional council to look after their needs.

What Are Their Beliefs?

This people group has a combination of tribal beliefs and Hinduism.

What Are Their Needs?

The Dhuriya people need to accept and embrace the abundant life that only Jesus Christ can offer.

Prayer Points

Pray that Indian believers will lead the Dhuriya into a disciple making movement. Pray that the council leaders come to Jesus Christ and lead others to him.
Pray for a spiritual hunger that will lead them to the risen savior.
Pray for intercessors and workers.
