Introduction / History

The Chinese community in Czechia is small, but it was also small when it first began before WWII. Most of them left during the German invasion.

When Czechia gained her independence in 1993, it allowed for foreign nationals to enter the country. Among these were a small number of Vietnamese and Chinese immigrants. Migration to Czechia coincided with migration to Hungary.

What Are Their Lives Like?

Most Chinese in Czechia come and go, but there are some who settle there. Among them are Chinese businessmen. They have their own association, the Association of Chinese Business in the Czech Republic. There was a major attack on their office in 1995 because of a dispute with the local people and because it was being used for human trafficking by a Chinese gang.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Most Chinese in Czechia are secularized, but there are also Christians among them. Most are Roman Catholic but others are Evangelical.

What Are Their Needs?

The Chinese in Czechia need enough spiritual hunger to acknowledge the Lord for who he is.

Prayer Points

Pray for Christian Chinese in Czechia to disciple others, leading them closer to the Lord of lords.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to move mightily in their churches, spurring them on to love and good works.
Pray for the secularized Chinese in Czechia to have a spiritual hunger that will lead them to the cross.
