Introduction / History

In the eighth century, Sindhis became part of an Islamic Empire, enabling Arabs to enter India. Sindhi people have Persian links that have influenced them. They have their roots in Pakistan's Sindh Province.
There are a number of Sindhi subgroups. Among them are the Samon Sindhis who are evenly divided between Pakistan's Sindh Province and Gujarat, India.

The Samon Sindhi work in livestock production. Some work in agriculture. Samon Sindhis are not well educated, so they will need the gospel in oral form. They are not vegetarians who eat buffalo and camel meat.
They have arranged marriages with their cousins. They allow for re-marriage. When the father dies sons and daughters both inherit the property.
