Introduction / History

The Mukha Dora also called Nooka Dora are a scheduled tribe of Andhra Pradesh. They speak Telugu, the language of Andhra Pradesh. Many also speak the Mukha Dora language, which is what actually defines them as a people group.

What Are Their Lives Like?

They work in agriculture. They find and sell forest produce. A village council looks after their needs. They have a low literacy level, so the gospel will need to be given to them in oral form. The Mukha Dora prefer cousin marriages. They are exogamous, meaning that they marry outside their clan. A man often has more than one wife.

What Are Their Beliefs?

They are officially Hindu, but they blend in their own traditional beliefs.

What Are Their Needs?

The Mukha Dora people need the abundant life that only Jesus offers.

Prayer Points

Pray that the village councils and family leaders will come to Jesus Christ and lead their community into a church planting movement. Pray that gospel materials will be easily available to them. Pray for a spiritual hunger that will lead them to the cross. Pray for intercessors and workers.
