Introduction / History

The Mala Sale are a scheduled caste, meaning that they have low to average standing as a Hindu community. They live in Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka. They are not vegetarians but they do not eat beef and pork.

What Are Their Lives Like?

They were weavers but cultivation is now their main work. Most of them are very poor. They have a low literacy level so the gospel will need to be given in oral form. They use both traditional and modern medicines. The Mala Sale often marry their cousins.

What Are Their Beliefs?

As Hindus they depend on the gods and spirit beings whom they believe will provide them with protection and favor.

What Are Their Needs?

The Mala Sale community needs to seek and find the only Savior so they can experience His abundant life.

Prayer Points

Pray for intercessors and workers to faithfully adopt the Mala Sale people. Pray for spiritual hunger that will lead them to the only Savior. Pray for a powerful disciple making movement to Christ. Pray for them to understand that the Lord can provide for all of their physical and spiritual needs.
