Caribbean people are the people born in or inhabitants of the Caribbean region or people of Caribbean descent living outside the Caribbean. The Caribbean region was originally populated by Amerindians from several different Kalinago and Taino groups. These groups were largely decimated by a combination of enslavement, warfare and disease brought by the European colonizers. Modern Caribbean people usually further identify by their own specific ethnic ancestry. Haiti has the most population in the Caribbeans.
Those who live in the U.S. are from Cuba, Jamaica, Haiti, or the Dominican Republic. Most are located in New Jersey, New York, or Florida.
Caribbean people in the U.S. can be in just about any line of work. Many, however, are in medical work. They fill critical gaps in U.S. medical systems.
The vast majority of the Caribbean people in the U.S. are Christian. Many are staunch followers of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Their greatest need is to understand the infinite love of Almighty God for them and his provisional payment of the penalty for their sins.
Pray for the Holy Sirit to give Caribbean people teachable and understanding hearts.
Pray that a strong movement of the Holy Spirit will bring entire families into a rich experience of God's blessing.
Pray for Caribbean families to be drawn by the Holy Spirit to become Christ bearers to less reached immigrant groups in the United States.
