Introduction

Is Torom a language or a tribe? It's both! Often, the tribe has the same name as the language. Torom is a Chadic language, but due to its small population, most also speak Chadian Arabic, which allows them to interface with outsiders. They are probably farmers and livestock herders like their neighbors. Their prosperity is hindered by a lack of rain and limited water sources. Their cattle are typically lean, and they can only cultivate crops that thrive in dry climates, such as sorghum and millet.

Ministry Obstacles

Almost none are Christians, nor are their neighbors. How will they hear the gospel without a preacher? Who will go to them?

Outreach Ideas

Pray for the Followers of Christ

Pray for the Entire People Group

Pray for the Lord to give the Toroms an abundant harvest and healthy livestock as a testimony of his love and power.
Pray for their elders to have dreams of Christ, which will give them a willingness to reconsider their belief in salvation by works.
Pray for the Lord to send workers to help them find new sources of water and access to adequate medical care.
Pray that soon the Toroms will be defined by their devotion to Jesus Christ as their Savior.
