Introduction / History

Tapiete is a subdialect of Guarani, one of the key languages in Paraguay. Guasurango is another way of saying Tapiete. People who speak this language live not only in Paraguay

What Are Their Lives Like?

We know little about how they live, but they are probably an agricultural community.

What Are Their Beliefs?

The Tapiete speakers are usually Roman Catholic with pre-Colombian religious practices mixed in. There is a strong Evangelical minority that can be used by God to reach the others for the Lord of lords.

What Are Their Needs?

Tapiete speakers need culturally appropriate evangelistic and discipleship tools. It would be best if they were in oral forms since literacy is a challenge in rural South America.

Prayer Points

Pray for evangelistic and discipleship tools to be easily available to them.
Pray for Tapiete speakers to have a Holy Spirit revival that will cause them to make Christ the lord of all they do.
Pray for Tapiete disciples to disciple many others in the way of the only savior.
Pray for the Lord to give them an abundant harvest as a testimony of his magnificent power and love.
