Introduction / History

The Tangshuri people are also known as the Tangshewi people. Their language and culture are related to that of the Tajiks. Their homeland is in northeastern Afghanistan near the Tajikistan border. Some live in Turkmenistan.

What Are Their Lives Like?

Like the peoples nearby, the Tangshuri are herders and farmers.

What Are Their Beliefs?

The Tangshuri are Muslims, and we know of no Christ followers among them. Some Christian audio recordings have been translated into their language. It will be humanly impossible to get these materials to them; God will need to intervene in their remote communities.

What Are Their Needs?

The Tangshuri people need to submit to Jesus Christ so they can experience the abundant life he offers them in John 10:10.

Prayer Points

Pray for workers who are driven by the love and boldness of the Holy Spirit to go to them.
Pray that the Tangshuri people will have a spiritual hunger that will open their hearts to the King of kings.
Pray for a Disciple Making Movement to begin among them soon.
