Introduction / History

The Shekos have their own language by the same name but most also speak Amharic and Gimira.

What Are Their Lives Like?

Shekos live by tilling the land. They use the hoe for tilling the land. They produce enset and coffee. They are polygamous and intermarry with the Bench people.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Most practice ethnic religion, but they are officially Christian. The Shekos have an Evangelical majority, which can reach those who haven’t put all their faith in Jesus.

What Are Their Needs?

The Shekos need a complete Bible and a wide distribution of gospel materials.

Prayer Points

Pray for an accurate and complete Bible translation in the Sheko language.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to move powerfully in Sheko churches and homes, drawing them closer to the King of kings.
Pray for them to become a powerful mission force in Ethiopia.
