Introduction / History

The Lencas are also known as the Jaguar People or People of the Jaguar. They only live in Honduras and El Salvador. They have their own language, which Spanish mostly replaces.

What Are Their Lives Like?

Their primary crops include maize and black beans. They make pottery and baskets to sell, but the Lencas are becoming more modernized. Many of them participate in the modern economy.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Though they are primarily Roman Catholic, the Lencas retain some of their traditional animistic beliefs involving protective spirits.

What Are Their Needs?

The Lencas need more of the Holy Spirit in their churches and homes.

Prayer Points

Pray for revival in Lencas churches and homes, driving them into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.
Pray for Lenca disciples to disciple others to make even more disciples.
Pray for the Lord to bless the Lencas spiritually and materially abundantly. May they understand his goodness and power!
