Introduction / History

Koalibs have a language by the same name and live in the Nuba Mountains of southern Sudan.

What Are Their Lives Like?

Koalibs live in circular thatched-roofed huts that seldom have electricity or running water.

Music, dancing, and storytelling are all part of their ceremonies and celebrations.

Most of the Koalib economy is on the barter system. They trade whatever they grow or make. Men take care of the livestock and farming chores while women cook and raise children.

What Are Their Beliefs?

A little over half of the Koalibs are Christian. Of these, a small percentage are Evangelical. The remaining people are Muslim or animistic. They have a New Testament and many oral materials.

What Are Their Needs?

Their infrastructure needs are unmet because the government is putting their energies into fighting insurgents. Therefore, the Koalibs lack adequate schools, hospitals, electricity, and roads.

Prayer Points

Pray for peace and justice to reign in Sudan.
Pray for God to protect the Koalibs from those who come to steal, kill, and destroy.
Pray that soon, Koalib Christ followers will disciple those who need the only savior.
