Introduction / History

The Kisankasa are distinct from other people groups, and often called Dorobo.

The Kisankasa are an ethnic and linguistic group based in Arusha Region and Mara Region in northern Tanzania. The Mara Region is home to the Serengeti National Park, one of the world's most famous national parks. Listed as a World Heritage Site, the national park occupies a large area of grasslands and woodlands and is home to a diverse range of wildlife. It attracts close to 150,000 tourists every year.

Where Are they Located?

The Kisankasa are an ethnic and linguistic group based in Arusha Region and Mara Region in northern Tanzania.

What Are Their Lives Like?

Kisankasa people speak the Kisankasa language. Tanzania is one of the world's poorest nations where an agricultural subsistence economy dominates. Over one million children are orphaned because of AIDS.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Kisankasa people have their own tribal religion. They put their faith in spiritual forces that are in opposition to the Lord Almighty. Witchcraft is widespread. They have not been influenced by relative religious freedom existing in Tanzania. No Scripture resources are available in their Kisankasa language.

What Are Their Needs?

Widespread systemic poverty affects the Kisankasa people. They need help to establish and maintain schools, medical clinics, drinking water, and sanitation facilities.

They need someone to show them the way to Almighty God, the loving creator of all they see. Someone must teach them. Will it be you, or someone you know?

Prayer Points

The Church in Tanzania is shallow and must be discipled to reach its own people.
Health issues are serious and must be addressed if people are to live long enough to see, hear and understand Almighty God's truth of salvation provided for them.
Pray for broken intercessors who will kneel before heaven's throne for as long as it takes to see the Kisankasa people embrace Christ.
