The Japanese ruled the Marshall Islands from the beginning of World War I to the end of World War II. After World War II, the Japanese had to return to Japan. Some mixed Japanese and Marshallese stayed and worked in business and politics. In the 1980s, the Japanese joined local companies for work, mainly in the fishing industry. Many Japanese men have married Marshallese women. You can find Japanese people in Jaluit and Kwajalein.
Amongst the Japanese in the Marshall Islands, Marshallese is the main language and Japanese is the second main one.
Buddhism and Shintoism are the main religions among them, but some are Christians.
The Japanese in the Marshall Islands need a spiritual hunger that will motivate them to seek and find the only Savior.
Pray for spiritual hunger and discernment. Pray that Marshall Island Christians will lead the Japanese in the Marshall Islands to salvation. Pray that gospel materials including on the internet will lead them to Jesus Christ. Pray for the Lord to send dreams and visions to Japanese elders, leading to openness to the gospel.
