Introduction

The Gujarati are primarily classified as the inhabitants of the state of Gujarat, western India. For most of them, Gujarati is their native language. Today there are significant Gujarati communities in some 27 nations with a large number in Kenya and Uganda. Gujarati who have emigrated are usually from the higher, wealthier castes and have maintained many aspects of their own culture. They are often involved in trade or operate small businesses.

Ministry Obstacles

People in the business community have very little free time. It would be difficult for Gujaratis in Kenya to attend Bible studies and church services.

Outreach Ideas

Pray for the Followers of Christ

Pray for the Entire People Group

Ask the Lord to raise up loving missionaries who are willing to share Christ with the Gujaratis. Pray that God would give the mission agencies wisdom, favor and strategies for reaching the Gujarati. There is a strong Church in Kenya. Pray for indigenous Christians to share Christ with these Hindus. Pray that South Asian Christians would be bold in their witness for Christ. Ask the Holy Spirit to soften the hearts of the Gujaratis towards Jesus Christ and his claims. Pray that Gujarati businessmen would be evangelized and take the gospel to their own people. Ask the Lord to raise up strong fellowships of believers among the Gujarati.
