Introduction / History

Greeks came to Ethiopia during the days of the Greek Empire. More came during the Roman Empire. Others came in the 1700s.

Today, most live in Addis Ababa, and the city of Dire Dawa. Because many left in the 1970s, they have a small population in Ethiopia.

What Are Their Lives Like?

Greeks in Ethiopia have their own school and a Greek Orthodox Church. Greeks are trying to take advantage of investment opportunities in Ethiopia.

What Are Their Beliefs?
