Introduction / History

German Swiss is a German dialect far different than the others. It is not intelligible to Germans in Germany.

What Are Their Lives Like?

No matter where they live, the German Swiss have their own way of doing things. They are extremely punctual and well-organized. They love rules that bring order to their work world. Yet they are very guarded about whom they will allow to come close; most are known to be very private.

What Are Their Beliefs?

The German Swiss can be Roman Catholic or Protestant. A church is a place to get married or buried, but it has little effect on their worldview. They view the world through secular lenses. One can say they are “Christianized” though that is less so for those who live in France or Liechtenstein.

What Are Their Needs?

The German Swiss need to allow Jesus Christ to transform their lives and their families.

Prayer Points

Pray for the Holy Spirit to bring spiritual refreshing to German Swiss congregations.
Pray for German Swiss lovers of Christ to teach his ways to others.
Pray for the Lord to bring revival to Switzerland and beyond.
