The Czech Republic was part of Czechoslovakia along with Slovakia but they became separate countries in the early 1990s.
Czech is a Slavic language and the Czechs use the Roman alphabet. Most of them identify themselves as Catholics or Protestants but much is nominal. They tend to call each other by their surnames if they are not familiar.
The Czechs, when married, often live with their parents for a time. Parents and adult children are close to each other. In the cities they often have two children and many have none. Divorces are on the increase. There is a housing shortage and many live in buildings with many apartments.
The Czechs like to eat roast meat. Many work as farmers, miners or in industry. Tennis and football are well liked sports among them. They like to go outdoors a lot.
* Pray that the many Czechs who are nominal Christians will give their lives to Jesus Christ.
* Pray that gospel materials will bring many of them to salvation.
